Brighton team wins University Challenge heat

C’mon you seagulls!

The first time ever (apparently) that the University of Brighton has made it to the televised heats of the University Challenge competition, and they actually won. I think it was 190 to 130 against the medics of Imperial College. Well done lads (for they are all lads), though shame on you for not recognising Maisie Mouse or Kipper the Dog.

Paxman was his usual impartial self, but the chaps were unfazed. They might want to consider throwing in a smile or two if they can manage it in the next round though, lest they come across as a miserable bunch of grumps. I know there’s a lot of pressure but come on men, enjoy your moment of fame!
